Patrick Coveney - Distinguished speaker 2017

Sep 09, 2017

Our special guest for our 2017 annual distinguished speaker was Patrick Coveney. Patrick Coveney embodies the concept of scale in business.  Under his leadership, Greencore has not merely grown, it has achieved scale through his strategic vision.  His career itself is an example of scaling education and experience.

From a B.Comm in UCC to a doctorate in management at New College, Oxford, he joined McKinsey & Co where he rose to Managing Partner for Ireland.  On a larger scale, he went on to join Greencore as CFO before becoming CEO in 2008.

2017 continues to be a year of challenges for trade and business.  It is difficult to think of anyone in Ireland who is better-placed than Patrick Coveney to analyse the impact of international shocks, not least Brexit, and what they will mean for companies, and for executives themselves.

Feedback from our invited guests 2017:

Just a note to say thanks for inviting me to the breakfast session this morning. It was great to hear from Patrick and a lot of what he said resonated with me. Rosanne also enjoyed the session and appreciated the invitation.

Many thanks for the invite for this morning. It was great to gain an insight into Patrick's career and his views on the number of topics you raised. Insightful research and great hosting.

Thanks you again for the invite this morning. I thought the session was very engaging and Rachel may have a career on on TV or Radio if you ever decide to get out of the recruitment business.

I just wanted to drop you a note to thank you for inviting me to your breakfast event yesterday. It was really well organised and attended - you've clearly got a fantastic network in Dublin (and beyond).  Patrick spoke really well (would I have expected anything less), it was a very entertaining and insightful discussion.
