Head of Accounting – Supply Chain – EMEA

Head of Accounting – Supply Chain – up to €110,000 depending on experience – North Dublin

Our globally recognised client is looking to hire a dynamic & accomplished Head of Accounting for their European Supply Chain hub which is currently being set up in Ireland.  The role will also be responsible for overseeing the finance for up to nine large stores in Ireland employing up to 500 staff.

Managing a finance team of 20 to deliver accurate & informative financial information from Dublin servicing the purchasing & supply chain finance across Europe.



  • In line with IFRS standards, your team will deliver reliable and accurate accounting information for the European Supply Chain operation
  • Transactional work – Managing AP, AR and Reconciliations, Inter company (over 100 partners)
  • Audit – Liaise with both internal & external auditors
  • Financial reporting – Month-end, statutory reporting, financial statements and the full suite of financial reports required by head office
  • Employee management – Manage, hire & develop a team of five direct reports with a wider remit of 20 employees
  • Risk – Deliver robust processes to ensure risks are mitigated



  • Qualified accountant with several years’ experience in an audit environment ideally working with large/global retail or distribution organisations
  • Previous Supply Chain & Retail accounting experience definitely preferred, with exposure & a full understanding of Tax & VAT implications moving goods across several European countries
  • Exposure to working with international teams in disparate locations combined with excellent communication
  • Solid experience in SAP and MS Office particularly MS Excel
  • Excellent knowledge of IFRS essential
  • Proven ability of successfully hiring, managing & developing teams



  • Travel to Europe will be required but nothing too onerous – European passport essential
